DEFINITION When a straight line set up on a straight line makes the adjacent angles equal to one another, each of the equal Euclids parallel postulate book is right, and the straight line standing on the other is called a perpendicular to that on which it stands.
The parallel postulate might be confusing, but it does say that if two lines (namely, b and c) are crossed by another line (namely, a) and the measure of angles ∠4 and ∠5 are less than ° (the sum of two right angles), then the lines are not parallel.
